This tip sheet was created as a step-by-step guide for HMIS Agency Administrators to review their own agency's current HMIS users and reset passwords.
Reviewing Agency HMIS Users
- From the Home Page Dashboard, click Admin from the menu on the left
- Click User Admin
- Check both the "Include active users" and "Include inactive users". Checking both will allow Agency Admins to see all users with a license for their own agency. Inactive users are those users who temporarily do not have access to HMIS due to temporary leave or due to lack of logging into the system.
- Click Search
- Review list of HMIS users at the Agency

If any HMIS user appears who is no longer needing access to the system, the Agency Admin should immediately notify the Data Center via the License Inactivation Request form.
Resetting User Passwords
- From the Home Page Dashboard, click Admin from the menu on the left
- Click User Admin
- Enter the HMIS User's first and last name into the Search textbox and click Search
- Click on the pencil next to the HMIS User's username
- Click the Generate Password button (appears as "A" on the image below)
- Utilize the computer generate password as the temporary password for the user or type in a new temporary password in the textbox
- Click Save & Exit (appears as "B" on the image below)
