Resetting Your Password

This tip sheet was created as a step-by-step guide to resetting your password.

Who can reset HMIS passwords?

  • All HMIS Users 
  • Agency Administrators 
  • NCCEH Data Team
  • Wellsky (HMIS vendor)

You should first try to reset your own password. If you do not receive the email to reset your password after checking your spam and waiting 15-20 minutes, you can then either contact your agency HMIS administrator or the NCCEH Data Team. 

 

How to Reset Your Own HMIS Live Site Password

  1. From the login in screen, click Forgot Password
  1. Enter your HMIS Username when prompted
  1. Check your email for instructions to reset password.  TIPS:  
    • Look for an email from "DoNotReply@WellSky.com"   (mark this as a trusted sender for future reference).  The email should have the verbiage, “Community Services Email Password Reset” with the date and time in the subject line.
    • Make sure you are checking the email account associated with your HMIS Training Site account
      • Check your "Spam" and "Junk" folders if you don't see it in your Inbox
    • The email can take several minutes to arrive in your inbox
  2. The temporary password will show as expired and a prompt to create a new password will appear. Your new password must be 8-50 characters long with at least two numbers or symbols. Enter the new password into both textboxes that appear on screen and click "Save". 
    • If you do not need this screen, your requested password link may have already timed out (the link is valid only for 15min once received) and you will need to click Forgot Password again.

 

How to Reset Your Own HMIS Training Site Password

  1. From the login in screen, click Forgot Password

 

2. Enter your HMIS Username when prompted

3. Check your email for instructions to reset password.  

 

TIPS:  

  • Look for an email from "DoNotReply@WellSky.com" (mark this as a trusted sender for future reference).  The email should have the verbiage, “Community Services Email Password Reset” with the date and time in the subject line.
  • Make sure you are checking the email account associated with your HMIS Training Site account
    • Check your "Spam" and "Junk" folders if you don't see it in your Inbox
  • The email can take several minutes to arrive in your inbox

4. Click or copy and paste the link provided in the email into a browser to reset your password for the HMIS Training Site.

5. You will be prompted to enter a new password into both textboxes that appear on screen and click "Save"

  • Your new password must be 8-50 characters long with at least two numbers or symbols.

 

Requesting Password Resets via Agency Admin Assistance

  1. Contact your agency's HMIS Agency Administrator for assistance resetting the password.
  2. Using the temporary password the Agency Admin provided, enter your username and temporary password into the login screen.
  3. The temporary password will show as expired and a prompt to create a new password will appear. Your new password must be 8-50 characters long with at least two numbers or symbols. Enter the new password into both textboxes that appear on screen and login.

 

Who can reset Learning Management Site (LMS) passwords?

  • All HMIS Users 
  • NCCEH Data Team

How to Reset Your Own Learning Management Site (LMS) Password

  1. From the login in screen, click Forgotten your username or password?

2. Enter your LMS Username or Email Address when prompted

3. Check your email for instructions to reset password.  

TIPS:  

  • Look for an email from "noreply-hmisncceh.unhosting.site@sitemail2.unhosting.site" (mark this as a trusted sender for future reference). The email should have the verbiage, “NCCEH Learning: Password reset request” in the subject line.
  • Make sure you are checking the email account associated with your LMS account
    • Check the "Spam" and "Junk" folder if you don't see it in your Inbox
  • The email can take several minutes to arrive in your inbox

4. Click or copy and paste the link provided in the email into a browser to reset your password for the Learning Management Site.

5. You will be prompted to enter a new password into both textboxes that appear on screen and click "Save changes"

  • Your new password must be 8-50 characters long with at least two numbers or symbols.

 

Requesting Password Resets via NCCEH Data Team Assistance

  1. Send an email to the Data Team Helpdesk (hmis@ncceh.org) to let us know which website you need a password reset for
  2. Using the temporary password provided by the Data Team, enter your username and temporary password into the login screen.
  3. The temporary password will show as expired - you will be prompted to create a new password. Your new password must be 8-50 characters long with at least two numbers or symbols. Enter the new password into both textboxes that appear on screen and login.
